Experiences in and around Cape Town, South Africa, as curated by Your DTS Bestie.

Highlights

Africology Spa, Constantia
Africology is one of my favourite South African brands, so when I found out they have a serene spa in Constantia, I had to go!
Treatments I booked:
- Sativa Stem Cell Massage
- Slimming Detox Body Wrap

Franschhoek Wine Tram
Exploring the Franschhoek wine region using the Franschhoek wine tram, train and tractor was a once-in-a-lifetime experience! No fuss about how to get around, BUT you do have to follow the schedule.
These wineries were my highlights:
- Grande Provence (beautiful on-site art gallery)
- Klein Goederust (black-owned)
- Rickety Bridge (first woman-owned winery in the region)

Cape of Good Hope and Boulders Beach Small Group Tour
I booked my small group tour through Viator (affiliate link here). We travelled from Cape Town (starting in the colourful Bo Kaap neighborhood) all the way down to the Cape of Good Hope (the southernmost point in Africa) in a small, air-conditioned van, while making stops at Hout Bay, Boulders Beach and Chapmans Peak Drive. My tour guide, Jeff, shared a wealth of knowledge at each location.

Where to Stay

Radisson Blu Hotel, Waterfront
100 Beach Road, Granger Bay Blvd, Mouille Point, Cape Town, 8002, South Africa
This stunning waterfront property offers luxurious rooms, an infinity pool, views of the ocean, exceptional service, the Amani spa and a fantastic on-site restaurant – Tobago’s Restaurant, Bar and Terrace.

Where to Eat

Afternoon Tea at Mount Nelson
If you love an elegant afternoon tea and “regal garden party” is your vibe, you must try the afternoon tea at Mount Nelson.
It’s a delightful way to enjoy an afternoon nibbling on the sandwiches, savory treats and desserts while sipping rooibos tea (or any one of their black, white or green teas).
Reservations are required.

Lunch at Grande Provence Restaurant
While in Franschhoek, I had the pleasure of having a three-course lunch (with a wine pairing) at the Grande Provence Restaurant. There was a good selection of meal options and I had the option of dining in the refined dining room or in the stunning outdoor courtyard.
Reservations are suggested.

Dinner at The Happy Uncles
I, unfortunately, did not have a chance to dine here, but The Happy Uncles is a halal restaurant in Cape Town with excellent reviews.

Travel Tips
- Make reservations in advance at restaurants. I travelled at the end of November and so many places were fully booked!
- Summer is from November to March. If you want to catch the sun, travel to Cape Town between November and March as that is their summer season. It is quite hot (well over 25ºC), so a portable fan and sunscreen will be your besties! You can expect mild, rainy winter weather between April and October.
- Honourable Mentions:
